Volleyball Recap: Faulkton Trojans vs. Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds
Faulkton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds by a score of 3-2. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on October 12th.
Faulkton took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-13, 21-25, 25-20, 15-3.
Carley Cotton paced Faulkton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Cotton got some help from
Clair Cotton and her 33 assists.
Faulkton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Wolsey-Wessington, they pushed their record up to 25-9 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
After both having extra time off, Faulkton and North Central will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wolsey-Wessington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
