Midland Valley's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against the Gilbert Indians by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Indians back in January, they had to take a 42-39 loss.

Midland Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zekenya Eberhart led the charge by putting up 13 points. Eberhart continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bri Hunter, who posted 12 points.

Gilbert's loss came despite strong showings from Blythe Price and Alexis Gartmon. Price earned 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals, while Gartmon put up 17 points and three steals. That was a full 40.9% of Gilbert's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Midland Valley's record now sits at 5-17. As for Gilbert, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Midland Valley has already played their next game, a 53-27 defeat against Aiken on the 7th. As for Gilbert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 65-40 loss against Gray Collegiate Academy on the 5th.
