Volleyball Game Preview: Metro Tech Knights vs. Maryvale Panthers

The Metro Tech Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Maryvale Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Metro Tech is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering McClintock just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Maryvale waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Jaguars.

Maryvale never let South Mountain on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.

Maryvale pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Metro Tech, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 16-4.

Metro Tech beat Maryvale 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
