Baseball Recap: Cherokee County Takes a Loss

Cherokee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Haralson County Rebels. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly two runs.

Ben Elsberry was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cherokee County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Young, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Young has posted since back in March of 2024.

Cherokee County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Haralson County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cherokee County will host Piedmont at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Haralson County, they will face off against Bowdon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
