Preview: Roosevelt Teddies vs. Como Park Cougars
The Roosevelt Teddies will head out on the road to challenge the Como Park Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Roosevelt will be strutting in after a victory while Como Park will be coming in after a loss.
Roosevelt had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against North Community by a score of 56-47.
Olivia Wren was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Tamara Behl was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Como Park pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Visitation, falling 93-56.
Roosevelt's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Como Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
Roosevelt strolled past Como Park when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 64-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roosevelt since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
