Baseball Recap: El Segundo Comes Up Short

El Segundo dropped to 15-6 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Redondo Union Sea Hawks, falling 22-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since March 21st.

Logan Brooks was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sean Helms was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two doubles.

As for Redondo Union, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Redondo Union's side, Jandon Rosadini looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keiji Hattori, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with one home run, eight RBI, and five runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (three). Riley Park also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

El Segundo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-3 victory against Narbonne on the 25th. As for Redondo Union, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 win against Mira Costa on the 29th.
