Volleyball Recap: Roncalli Comes Up Short

Roncalli was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Sevastopol Pioneers. If the Jets were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Roncalli ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17.

Ava Cvetezar paced Roncalli's offense, picking up five kills. Cvetezar got some help from Aubri Riesterer and her nine assists. Gracie Hamann controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Roncalli now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Sevastopol, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roncalli will square off against Valders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sevastopol, they will face off against Oconto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
