Softball Recap: Edgerton Bulldogs vs. Ayersville Pilots
After flying high against North Central on Monday, Edgerton came back down to earth. The Bulldogs came up short against the Ayersville Pilots on Thursday, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since May 3, 2024.
Corinne Cape spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Edgerton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Giesige, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Edgerton's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Ayersville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
