Basketball Game Preview: Loogootee Lions vs. Washington Hatchets

The Loogootee Lions will take on the Washington Hatchets in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Loogootee is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Eastern Greene on Tuesday. Loogootee walked away with a 53-44 win over Eastern Greene.

Meanwhile, Washington entered their tilt with Forest Park on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They secured a 50-46 W over the Rangers. Given the Hatchets' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Rangers are ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loogootee's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Washington, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Loogootee skirted past Washington 48-45 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Loogootee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Washington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
