Softball Recap: Hallsville Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

Hallsville extended their postseason success on Friday against Lovejoy. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Leopards. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won five matchups in a row.

The team relied heavily on Hope Miles, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Maddie McKinney, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hallsville pushed their record up to 35-4-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lovejoy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-13.

Looking ahead, Hallsville will host Grapevine at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Lovejoy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
