Baseball Recap: Old Plank Christian Academy Starts Season with Win Against Harvest Community

Old Plank Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They never let the Harvest Community Warriors onto the board and left with a 16-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Defenders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Ian Puckett was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Puckett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaden Treitinger, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Derrick Rhodes, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Harvest Community's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Old Plank Christian Academy will look to defend their home field on Monday against Orange Park at 6:00 p.m. As for Harvest Community, they will head out on the road to face off against Covenant School of Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
