Baseball Recap: Cle Elum-Roslyn Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against River View, Cle Elum-Roslyn was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Goldendale Timberwolves by a score of 8-4. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Timberwolves, too.

Trey Tolen-Chavez and Tristan Bogart were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Tolen-Chavez pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Bogart didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Tolen-Chavez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cle Elum-Roslyn is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-10 otherwise. At the plate, Tolen-Chavez went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Bogart went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Bator, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Glen Franklin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cle Elum-Roslyn's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for Goldendale, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-7.

Cle Elum-Roslyn will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Timberwolves: the pair will be back at it again later today.
