Basketball Recap: Todd County Comes Up Short

Todd County lost against Mahpiya Luta back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons took a blow against the Crusaders, falling 70-15.

Ashlan Carlow-Blount went supernova For Mahpiya Luta., almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Carlow-Blount is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 28 games she's played dating back to last season. Shania Ferguson was another key player, going 8-for-17 to rack up 18 points and three steals.

Todd County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mahpiya Luta, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Todd County and Mahpiya Luta will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Falcons see the court they'll take on Cheyenne-Eagle Butte at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Mahpiya Luta, their break will end when they face Bennett County at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2026.
