Basketball Game Preview: James River Knights vs. Floyd County Buffaloes

James River is 2-8 against Floyd County since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The James River Knights will welcome the Floyd County Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

James River will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Alleghany, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. James River snuck past Alleghany with a 42-37 win on Friday.

Meanwhile, Floyd County strolled past Radford with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 64-49.

Floyd County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-13. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.2 points. As for James River, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.

James River was able to grind out a solid victory over Floyd County in their previous meeting back in January, winning 55-48. Will James River repeat their success, or does Floyd County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
