Baseball Recap: Newark Valley Falls to Whitney Point in First Game of Season

Newark Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 16-9 to the Whitney Point Eagles on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Newark Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Benjamin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Coming up, Newark Valley will host Moravia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Whitney Point, they will venture away from home to face off against Watkins Glen at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
