Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Montgomery Mustangs vs. Auburn Eagles

Eastern Montgomery is 0-10 against Auburn since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Mustangs will square off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Eastern Montgomery and Bath County, and Bath County kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 7-6 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Auburn came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Maroons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 24-4. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Eastern Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Eastern Montgomery might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Auburn in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
