Baseball Recap: Tampa Prep Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tampa Prep had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders by a score of 4-1. The Terrapins haven't had any issues with the Marauders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Erik Skiendziel tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tampa Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Brill, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Brill is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Tampa Prep's record now sits at 15-10. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.

As of now, neither Tampa Prep nor the Marauders have any future games scheduled.
