Flag Football Recap: North Monterey County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against North Salinas on Tuesday, North Monterey County came back down to earth. The Condors were beaten by the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies 32-0 on Thursday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Condors, who until this matchup were averaging 8.63 points allowed.

North Monterey County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Crystal Derrer, Maya Ibarra, and Danae Diaz picked up one apiece.

The loss snapped North Monterey County's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-4 record. As for Pajaro Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. North Monterey County will face off against rival Pacific Collegiate at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Condors 8.6, the Pumas 9.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Pajaro Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Seaside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
