Baseball Recap: Bonners Ferry Comes Up Short

Bonners Ferry extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 5-15. They lost 13-0 to the Timberlake Tigers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bonners Ferry saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keenan Maas, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Timberlake, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine games by nine runs or more so far this season.

On Timberlake's side, Ryker Brennan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Brennan has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Timberlake's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-2 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Nate Beardsall and Dane Perkl did most of the damage at the plate: Beardsall went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while Perkl went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Beardsall has become a key player for Timberlake: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gage Tenney, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Bonners Ferry nor Timberlake have any future games scheduled.
