Volleyball Game Preview: Wayne Blue Devils vs. Boone Central Cardinals

The Wayne Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Boone Central Cardinals on Tuesday. Wayne is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Wayne took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Stanton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 3-2.

Wayne took Stanton into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-15, 21-25, 17-25, 15-13.

Wayne can attribute much of their success to Jacen Hasemann, who had ten digs. That's the most digs Hasemann has posted since back in August.

Meanwhile, Boone Central was able to grind out a solid win over Elgin/Pope John on Thursday, taking the game 2-0.

Boone Central not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Elgin/Pope John between 18 and 19 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18.

Wayne's record now sits at 15-8. As for Boone Central, their record is now 12-10.

Wayne skirted past Boone Central 2-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
