Serrano and St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Serrano had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 38-19 to the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors. The Diamondbacks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Serrano lost, don't look at Trevor Mcsween. Despite the final result, he rushed for 182 yards while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Mcsween was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.

Jassi Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, throwing for 444 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt, and also punching in one touchdown. The dominant performance gave Williams a new career-high in passing yards. Kenny Peevy was another key player, picking up 145 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Serrano's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-9.

Serrano does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy has also already played their next match, a 28-7 win against St. Augustine on the 7th.
