Recap: Legal Prep vs. Kelvyn Park Panthers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for Legal Prep, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Monday. Legal Prep's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Legal Prep still got an impressive performance from Maurquese Washington, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was TyShawn Spires, who scored eight points.
Legal Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Kelvyn Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
Legal Prep has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st. Hopefully Chicago Mathematics & Science focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Monday. As for Kelvyn Park, they will head out on the road to face off against the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Horizon Science Academy-Southwest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully the Panthers likes a good challenge.
