The Scottsburg Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Clarksville Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Scottsburg's defense has only allowed 10.2 points per game this season, so Clarksville's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Scottsburg blew Charlestown out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Charlestown got their revenge. The Warriors fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 20-17. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Scottsburg had strong showings from Garrett Boling, who picked up 148 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Nathan Byrd, who threw for 300 yards and one TD. Boling's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 114 receiving yards. Landon Shuck handled things on the ground, rushing for 84 yards.
Even if they lost, Scottsburg's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Jacob June was especially locked on to Charlestown's QB and sacked him 2.5 times.
Meanwhile, Clarksville hadn't done well against Perry Central recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Generals skirted past the Commodores 34-32. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Generals' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.
A big part of Clarksville's win came down to the chemistry between Caleb Hawkins and his top target Anthony Moss. Hawkins threw for 315 yards and five touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes while Moss picked up 188 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Moss was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 55 yards.
The victory snapped Clarksville's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record. As for Scottsburg, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
Everything came up roses for Scottsburg against Clarksville in their previous matchup back in August of 2023, as the team secured a 53-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
