Softball Recap: John Champe Takes a Loss

John Champe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Heritage Pride, falling 20-3. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pride apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ally Schwarz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

John Champe's record now sits at 0-3. As for Heritage, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Champe will venture away from home to challenge Dominion at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.14 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Heritage, they are taking a road trip to square off against Loudoun County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Captains have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
