Basketball Game Preview: Raton Tigers vs. Clayton Yellowjackets

Raton is 0-10 against Clayton since January of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Raton Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Clayton Yellowjackets at 3:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Raton took on Pecos on Thursday. Raton was beaten by Pecos 55-26. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Panthers are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, Clayton had to suffer through a 60-25 loss at the hands of Estancia.

Raton is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17. As for Clayton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Raton suffered a grim 41-19 defeat to Clayton in their previous matchup back in January. Can Raton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
