Baseball Recap: West Washington Takes a Loss

West Washington fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Perry Central on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Commodores by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Senators, who until this contest were averaging 4.06 runs allowed.

West Washington saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nash Ables, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another was Iziah Dennis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

West Washington's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-3. As for Perry Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-11.

West Washington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Springs Valley on the 19th. Perry Central has also already played their next game (against Tell City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
