Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Tigers vs. Hillsboro Eagles

For the second straight game, Lincoln will face off against Hillsboro. The Tigers will square off against the Eagles on Saturday. Lincoln is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lincoln's offense. They lost 21-0 to Hillsboro on Thursday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

For Hillsboro's part, Brynlie Vantreese was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. Valeria Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Hillsboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .583. They are 15-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 12-8-2. As for Hillsboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lincoln has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .558. However, it's not like Hillsboro struggles in that department as they've averaged .514. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
