League recap: Beckemeyer breaks off league-leading run for Wellington-Napoleon

Wellington-Napoleon's Jacob Beckemeyer rumbled for the longest rushing play in I-70 this season in his game against Wentworth Military Academy last week. Beckemeyer scampered for 86 yards on the play and finished with 132 on the day as his team defeated the Red Dragons.

Wellington-Napoleon extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Wentworth Military Academy, 68-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the Quenton Bainbridge's team.

Ethan Matthews was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 148 yards as Crest Ridge lost to Tipton. Hayden Stringer also contributed to the rushing game with 58 yards on the ground.

Beckemeyer put up the best numbers through the air as the Tigers defeated Josh Barge's team. He finished with five completions for 100 yards and two touchdowns.

Vogelsmeier was the best wideout in I-70 this week as the Greyhounds fell to the Cardinals. Vogelsmeier racked up two receptions for 77 yards. Jeffery Hall helped Sweet Springs' passing attack out by catching four balls for 30 yards.

5-foot-11 quarterback Beckemeyer of Wellington-Napoleon is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2447. He has also thrown 31 touchdowns. On the ground, Orrick's Derrick Dennis has rushed for 1652 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hall. The Sweet Springs star has 30 catches for 432 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Tigers take on Lone Jack. Wellington-Napoleon is in first place, while the Mules are in sixth place.

The Tigers took down the Red Dragons 68-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Beckemeyer in the win.
