Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Taylor Vitto and Faith Hoffman Lead Spearfish to Victory

Spearfish had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Belle Fourche Broncs. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Broncs, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Spearfish took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-9, 25-13.

Leading Spearfish to victory were Faith Hoffman and Taylor Vitto. Hoffman had ten digs and three assists, while Vitto had seven digs. That's the most assists Hoffman has posted since back in September.

Spearfish was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 16 consecutive contests.

Spearfish's record now sits at 15-7. As for Belle Fourche, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Coincidentally, Spearfish and Belle Fourche will both be playing Mahpiya Luta the next time they take the court. The Broncs will host the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
