Basketball Recap: Amare Rosas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pershing County over Smith Valley

Pershing County lost against Smith Valley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pershing County Mustangs fell to the Smith Valley Bulldogs 64-59.

Pershing County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amare Rosas, who posted 15 points. The dominant performance gave Rosas a new career-high in points. Izayuh Mcglothin was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Pershing County's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-7. As for Smith Valley, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Pershing County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-52 defeat against Yerington on the 3rd. As for Smith Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-23 win against Whittell on the 4th.
