Basketball Recap: Enfield Comes Up Short

Enfield lost against Manchester back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Enfield Eagles lost 74-53 to the Manchester Red Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Red Hawks are ranked first).

Manchester's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chance Clark, who went 8 of 11 en route to 21 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Clark a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Oden-Tann, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards.

Enfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Manchester, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Enfield has already played their next match (against East Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Manchester will head out to challenge Glastonbury at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Manchester knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 contests -- so hopefully Glastonbury likes a good challenge.
