Basketball Recap: Ben Lomond Takes a Loss

Ben Lomond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Grantsville Cowboys and fell 66-17. The Scots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-10.

Payton Huff was Ben Lomond's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Huff also led the team in assists with three. Aleia Huff held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Grantsville had a senior duo take command as Baylee Lowder posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and five steals and Avery Allred scored 13 points and five boards. Lowder has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 34 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kodee Williams, who had six points.

Ben Lomond's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Grantsville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Ben Lomond will venture away from home to face off against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Ben Lomond likes a good challenge. As for Grantsville, they will square off against Ogden at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grantsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season.
