Football Game Preview: Gunnison Valley Bulldogs vs. Millard Eagles

The Gunnison Valley Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Millard Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gunnison Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Millard will be coming in after a defeat.

Gunnison Valley will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating North Sevier, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs blew past the Wolves 21-0 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The critical scores for Gunnison Valley came from Chase Maples, Bronsen Allen, and Ryder Coates.

Gunnison Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Sevier only rushed for 40.

Gunnison Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Krew Donaldson. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Millard had taken North Summit down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Eagles and the Braves were almost perfectly matched up, but the Eagles suffered a 28-27 loss. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Millard now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Gunnison Valley, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Gunnison Valley was taken down by Millard 45-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
