Vista Grande's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Casa Grande Cougars by a score of 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their seven-match losing streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Despite the defeat, Casa Grande saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Layla Egan had nine digs and two assists.

Vista Grande's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-11. As for Casa Grande, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Vista Grande will venture away from home to challenge Mountain Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Casa Grande, they will be taking part in a tournament against Florence on the 10th.
