Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Starts Season with Win at Home

Pioneer gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Woodland Christian Cardinals with a sharp 3-0 victory. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-9, 25-9.

Among those leading the charge was Layla Medalle, who had 21 digs and eight aces.

Medalle wasn't the only good server: Pioneer was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Coming up, Pioneer will face off against Dixon at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodland Christian, they will welcome Destiny Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
