Football Recap: Forest Hill Takes a Loss

Forest Hill extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were beaten by the Santaluces Chiefs 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Chiefs are ranked 202nd).

As for Santaluces, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points on average over those games.

Santaluces got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kelsey Gerald Gerald out in front who rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Brett Boston was another key pass catcher, picking up 99 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Forest Hill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 27-6 win against Suncoast on the 23rd. As for Santaluces, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-13 victory against Lake Worth on the 24th.
