Baseball Recap: Copper Canyon Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Copper Canyon and Westview meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. Copper Canyon fell 7-4 to Westview. The Aztecs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Ulysses Encinas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season.

Copper Canyon's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3-1. As for Westview, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Copper Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 victory against Central on the 19th. As for Westview, they have also already played their next game, a 29-0 defeat against Crismon on the 18th.
