Basketball Game Preview: St. Augustine Knights vs. St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds

St. Augustine is 1-9 against St. Joseph Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The St. Augustine Knights will welcome the St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds at 2:00 p.m. Both were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

St. Augustine is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game last Saturday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-25 heartbreaker at the hands of Union City. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1225th in Texas, while the Bears are ranked 421st in Pennsylvania).

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Veterans Memorial on Monday and fell 46-43. The loss continues a trend for the Bloodhounds in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

St. Joseph Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for St. Augustine, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
