Westbrook hadn't done well against Portland recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blue Blazes skirted past the Bulldogs 4-2. For the Blue Blazes, this counts as revenge for the 12-9 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Wyatt Poitras tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

At the plate, Kyle Brown was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Landon Hall was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Westbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Portland only posted a batting average of .125.

The victory got Westbrook back to even at 1-1. As for Portland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.
