After losing to Worthington Christian the last time they met, Bexley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Warriors on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.
The final score came out to 25-22, 26-24, 22-25, 25-17.
Molly Carlisle paced Bexley's offense, picking up 14 kills. Carlisle got some help from Avonlea Pitts and her 31 assists. Carlisle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Despite the defeat, Worthington Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kylie Maehl had 19 digs and two aces. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Maehl.
Bexley's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Worthington Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Bexley has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Buckeye Valley on the 28th. As for Worthington Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Columbus Academy on the 28th.
