Football Recap: Rivercrest Victorious

Rivercrest won the last time they faced Newport and things went their way on Friday too. The Colts walked away with a 48-38 victory over the Greyhounds. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

It was another big night for Jayden Young, who rushed for 152 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Lexx Latham was another key player, rushing for 65 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

When it comes to explaining why Newport lost, don't look at Trevion Greer. Despite the final result, he rushed for 216 yards and two scores while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Greer really tore up the turf during one magnificent 88-yard run. Another player making a difference was Luke Reynolds, who rushed for 27 yards and a pair of TDs.

Rivercrest now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Newport, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.
