Basketball Recap: Omaha Christian Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Heartland Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Omaha Christian Academy). They came out on top against Heartland Christian by a score of 62-52 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Omaha Christian Academy was led to victory by Jeevan James and Nathan Friesen. James went 7 for 13 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds, while Friesen posted 13 points and seven boards. Those 20 points gave James a new career-high. Avery Poteat was another key player, putting up four points.

Omaha Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Omaha Christian Academy's record now sits at 2-5. As for Heartland Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Omaha Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-52 loss against Parkview Christian on the 10th. As for Heartland Christian, they will challenge Cornerstone Christian School on Tuesday.
