Basketball Recap: Brooks County Comes Up Short

Brooks County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 53-40 to the Turner County Titans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Titans this season, with their most recent loss being a 58-51 defeat last Friday.

Despite the loss, Brooks County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trinity Vinson posted 11 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Vinson a new career-high in points. Janiyah Thomas was another key player, putting up six points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.

Brooks County's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Turner County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Brooks County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-49 loss against Charlton County on the 15th. As for Turner County, they have also already played their next game, a 56-50 victory against Clinch County on the 15th.
