Softball Recap: Shaw Raiders vs. Callaway Cavaliers
Shaw hadn't done well against Callaway recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Shaw Raiders had just enough and edged the Callaway Cavaliers out 9-8. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 loss the Cavaliers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August.
Coryelle Smoak was incredible, going 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI. Ava Gerber was another key player, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Shaw is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Callaway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-17.
