Softball Recap: Steinbrenner Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Steinbrenner ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Mitchell Mustangs 3-2. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by just one run.

Lilly Patton spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Steinbrenner's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emma Kindle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Steinbrenner has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Mitchell, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4.

Steinbrenner didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-4 victory against Berkeley Prep on the 9th. As for Mitchell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-0 loss against Calvary Christian on the 8th.
