Softball Recap: Salem Hills Finds Playoff Glory Versus Wasatch

With a playoff win on the line, Salem Hills rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Wasatch Wasps as they made off with an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won 14 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jocile Norman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Norman was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aliyah Elmer was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Emmery Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Salem Hills lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.

The victory made it two in a row for Salem Hills and bumps their season record up to 23-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Wasatch, their loss dropped their record down to 9-20.

Salem Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wasps: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
