Soccer Recap: Marquette Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Marquette had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Parkway South Patriots a 6-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Marquette's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Parkway South are ranked 55th).

Marquette pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three games. As for Parkway South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Marquette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parkway South, they will square off against Lindbergh at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
