Florin entered their tilt with Kennedy on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cougars.

Florin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-23.

John Nguyen paced Florin's offense, picking up 12 kills. Nguyen got some help from Sean Lee and his 28 assists. Lee was also a major player on defense: he and Edgar Martinez shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with five each.

Florin's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Kennedy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Coming up, Florin will face off against Johnson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Johnson will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Florin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kennedy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Kennedy Cougars face off against McClatchy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
