Basketball Recap: Swain County Skates Past Blue Ridge Early College with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Robbinsville, Swain County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They really took it to the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats for the full four quarters, racking up an 86-37 victory. The Maroon Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 29 points or more this season.

Blue Ridge Early College lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Victor Reyes, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Jeysson Soriano, who had seven points.

Swain County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swain County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Andrews at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Andrews knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Swain County likes a good challenge.
