Softball Recap: Stephenville FAITH Takes a Loss

The Stephenville FAITH Knights lost 10-4 to the Cross Plains Buffaloes on Tuesday. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

McKenzi Black put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases were her first of the season.

Black wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Karsyn Bedwell, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Stephenville FAITH's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Stephenville FAITH will take on Santo at 6:00 p.m. on March 4th. Cross Plains has already played their next contest (against Westbrook), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
